Is it time to have a talk with your women athletes about what happened in Rio?

Most harassment of women comes from other women - high school, college and workplace.

Your daughter is unlikely to run in a race with Semenya. She is 100% likely to have sexual comments, hateful comments on her body, men evaluating her body, men dismissing her based on her looks, men commenting how they want to f*** her, men making gross jokes about her, men demeaning her accomplishments, etc. - all things that take place in every thread here about women.

If you really want to promote women in track, you should be speaking out about the way women are regularly treated and talked about on these boards. That has more impact on women and girls day to day than intersex runners.

Are you seriously suggesting men will transition simply to get scholarships? Are you not aware that the NCAA requires that any transgender athlete be on hormones for over a year to qualify?

So a man quick enough to get a women's scholarship but not a men's would do this in your fantasy world right? Otherwise there'd be no point. So let's say he starts at 2:00 for 800- decent time for a man but you'll never get money, now for a young woman that'd be killer!! So he jumps on hormones, becomes "she" and now she shows up at college saying "Look at me coach I turned that half mile in two flat! Show me the money!!" And coach says "ok great! Lets just do a time trial real quick!" The two go out to that beautiful mondo track and our straw-woman track star takes off with all her might, charges through the laps like a bat out of hell and... She runs a 2:25. Bye bye scholarship.

i understand the worries over intersex athletes changing women's sports- it's a hard topic and one that will take time to figure out. However creating fantastical "what if's" will do nothing to advance the discussion.

there's no way they are going to be required to make anyone take a hormone nor go through a physical evaluation as we move on with this charade. Youre not very good at reading the writing on the wall, nor noticing how these political issues end up. There's going to be great changes in this issue and with changes, they aren't going back to the old way. It's going to be a doubling down. They are going to move in the direction of full acceptance, no questioning, no monitoring. If you don't see that, youre naive.

There will be lawsuit after lawsuit, and public pressure by advocacy groups to not require anyone to take any drugs nor prove anything other than "i feel like a girl, therefore I am"

Teach your daughters to lay down and give away scholarship money and potentially sponsorship money, prize money etc. to a man who identifies as a woman. Semenya is essentially a man, born without a penis. Somebody made a decision which likely went something like this "Boys have penises, this baby has no penis; therefore, the baby is a girl." From that time forward, Caster was raised as a female. I don't care what she identifies as ... if Caster has XY chromosomes, then Caster is a man.

I don't know a single person that wants to homogenize the entire world into a giant unisexual culture. Anyone that does is probably hormonally challenged and confused themselves. The vast majority of people with knowledge of this fiasco believe that there should be another division or that intersex means "male". I'm not trying to protect women because the women in know can protect themselves. I live in reality and wish more people did as well.
