Who knows. Figure every high school probably has probably added an average of 1 or 2 new names to the list every year since God knows when...then there are the people who broke 5 minutes post high school 50 million is my final answer.

"500,000 thousand?"
wow. that would be just about everyone on earth. I think the actual number would be slightly less than that.
Yep, I committed the unpardonable offense of rushing off my post without double-checking it for typos. Congratulations on spotting that. You're a genius.
In any case, I think the number is less than 50 million. I'm going with one-million until someone persuades me otherwise.
John Walker N.Z. reportedly ran sub 4. 128 times in his career. With a best of 3:49:08
The only person to have recorded a 4:00:00 mile was John Davies.
Dear dumbass,
The guy said it was "commonplace" in the international context. My point was, the numbers are, in fact, international.
Actually Derek Ibbotson was the first four minute miler.
steve scott - 136 sub-4:00 miles, although Walker did beat him to number 100
ibbotson ran 4;00.0, davies ran 4;00.00.
what about the best ever mile race? my vote is the 1999 Rome Golden Gala, run about 3:53 on that day and you would be wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back. Does anyone have the full results of that race?
did Webb run another 3:50 last year in London? it's listed at no. 172. I remember no.185 at Pre, don't remember another, faster 3:50 for him later that year.
anyone know?

what a brilliant thread this could be, but for some reason it has to be littered with gross disrespect for one another. Sometimes I wish you guys would simply leave Lets Run and leave it for those who actually enjoy dicussing in a decent manner.
Do note mature wasn't mentioned, just plain common decency would go a long way.
