By the way, what is the Court of Arbitration in Sport. It's not a legal court, but rather an organizational court? It was created by someone, so can't it be dismantled, or can't organizations choose to ignore it's rulings. Though, that could cause problems too.

Women sports in general are a joke competing at a level of an good high school varsity boy.

The CAS was a Samaranch idea, created by the IOC in 1984 I think, and has needed to become more independent of IOC to be considered by Swiss fed courts to a proper tribunal.

The idea was to have a reasonably fast (3-6 months) and cheap(er) process for athletes, with a Panel that knew more about sports law than a general court.

Most cases heard by it are by contractual agreements vis-a-vis competition rules in federations, and Pechstein's attempt to say that this method of arbitration was economically forced upon her was met on deaf ears in the latest German decision (who noted she could appeal to Swiss fed courts if there were bias).

It seems ironic that CAS ruled that Cas has no competitive by training and competing with testosterone levels which exceeds that of many men. What a farce. I avoided watching the "women's" 800 because I knew exactly who would win the medals. It is a case of the rights of a rare few given precedent over the overwhelming majority.
