Incredibly smart race by Coburn. Very savvy in the middle of the race when the pace really quickened and she let them go knowing it would spell distaster for anyone trying to hang with Jebet.

A hard earned and well deserved medal. Easily the most exciting race thus far in terms of Americans in finals (yes, more exciting than the 400).

That winner should have gone for the world record and Emma is a real stud. Stone Fox in the final 800. I was sure she was going to get the silver but her insides must have been screaming. Couldn't tell from the outside though. Proud of the US women for making the final. Very tough race.

Did New Balance give her family those T-Shirts, I'm sure she knew about it at least, probably helped coordinate it.

Clear Rule 40 violation, should have her medal stripped, a 12 month ban might be in order.

Remember when 10:07 was considered a really good women' steeplechase time? It wasn't that many years ago.

And now women are doing mma training and running 8:07! The times ,they are a changing.

Three things:

1. Title should be "EMMA MF COBURN"

2. If she got Hyvin for silver I would've gotten some much needed points for a perfect steeple prediction

3. THAT WAS AWESOME!! Gutsy performance to chase down the bronze and nearly get that silver
