Glad you liked the project. I saw all images with Canon 5dMarkIII and the 24-70 f2/8 version II. The 70-200 2.8 was used as well I think for the fishing shots. Thanks for asking!

Can't believe no one got a pic of Charles Jock on his famous bike.
A lot more went on outside the scope of this project (which I hope to expand into other sports and other trials in the future).
I was going to stage the shot of Jock when we met up but he was traveling by foot at the time.

Haha just realized that in the article. The athlete's schedules are really hectic so sometimes events run over and they can't make it. The one time I ran late was because I bumped into Jock at breakfast and knew it was going to be my only shot at including him in the project.

The opportunity fell into my lap there and I learned a ton from the generous distance coaches within the conference. Brad is an excellent administrator. I was really good at pissing him off with my hatred of paper work. Great guy tho.

I really like the way you processed the photos. I'm assuming this is a simple curves adjustment? Could you explain what you do to get this look? It's like slightly brightened with low contrast?
