Saturday: 2k @ 3k Pace (8 min rest) 3x300 @ Last Lap Pace (8 min rest) 1k @ 1500m Pace

Hard week, absolutely. It's extremely likely that this week was set up to simulate rounds of the OG 1500m and was very, very likely one of Canova's Special Blocks of training which usually has 4 days of very easy days following.

Google John Davis' site (sp) and look at the final month of Silas Kiplagat when he was coached by Canova. There is one week like this, then everything else is Hard- Easy- Easy.
