Guess what - she did pee in the cup today. There were a number of volunteers working with WADA who would "stalk" their designated athlete and not leave them until they "pee in the cup". Drug-testing is also one of the requirements for world record certification.

I'm not positive, but didn't Wang Junxia break 2:00 for the 800 in the same meet she ran 3:51 for the 1500m behind Qu? And she's certainly run much faster than 15 for the 5000m.

I must be late to join the party seeing as people are predicting my appearance. I saw the race, thought it was a good performance. At the same time I looked at my calendar and the damndest thing occured to me. It is February 1st-as usual Regina has her screwed up drug peaked phase at the wrong time of the year. The last time I checked we aren't close to the time of year that anything counts yet. She will probably run really fast indoors again, have a good early outdoor season and run 4:03-4:05 in June at Stanford, and then she will go to Europe run 4:10 a few times, get a "sinus infection" and that will be the end of her as usual. Suzy on the other hand realizes the idea behind running fast at the right times in Europe where track and field really takes place every year. Add another US Champs title or 2 this spring to Regina's collection, Suzy is busy concentrating on what will allow her to go under 3:57.12 and get her on the podium in Paris in August. Regina and Floyd can battle each other the rest of the spring and early summer!

Is there a reason people don't/can't like Regina Jacobs and Suzy Hamilton? As far as drugs Regina has never been convicted of cheating; however, wasn't OUR precious Mary banned for EXECESSIVE male hormone before? It doesn't take much to come up with acquistions as to why one think Regina or Suzy are or have done drugs; however, until the USATF, IAAF, or IOC convicts them the allegations are meaningless!
Suzy is a great runner, but REGINA is better (neither are on any illegal substance)!

Every year Regina beats Suzy in races like the Peoria Classic, Pukwana Invitational, and Arbor Day All Comers Champs, then Suzy goes to Europe and runs with the best and routinely beats the vast majority of them and shows people that there issss an American that can compete with the best over 400m(don't give me an Krumenaker crap here wait till the season is over so u don't look stupid in advance) yet she gets no credit. Wake up people-this is America's only legitimately routinely competitive distance runner at this time.

1 World Indoor 1500m Championship
1 World Indoor 3000m Silver
oh Outdoors is more important!

Suzy not even half of Regina's U.S. Titles which means Suzy

Suzy trails in head to head win/loss ratio to Regina and
last but not least Suzy has NO MEDALS of ANY kind from the Worlds or Olympics! The good thing is that they both SHOULD be Gold Medal threats this year.

Sennica Lassiter has more US titles and an edge in head to head races with Steve Holman, does that mean he will be considered a better runner than Steve, or ever run nearly as fast as Steve? Hell no-that point is shot there.
Surreya Ayhan(absolute goddess) will be in the 1500m final in Paris which means that even if Suzy and Regina were in the final Suzy would be the only one of the 2 with any shot to win. Regina can't run off a hard pace, never has and never will-thats why she gets her ass handed to her continuously in Europe.

Fellas, Pleas spare us the age-graded stuff. How many world class athletes continue to sacrifice to compete at 39? Very few. So how can tables be prepared to compare Regina or any others based upon age? Hell, if more did it, maybe we'd find that 39 is a more desirable age for quality performance. I don't think so, but how do I know? There hasn't been enough to make comparison. Also, age is just one of many factors in performance. Why not leg length grading or body fat grading, or flexibility grading. Don't try to make it more or less than what it is. Let her mark stand for what it is regardless of age, a world indoor 1500 meter record of 3:59+. Congratulations to her and good luck!
I was very excited watching Regina break the world record. It was, however, only momentary. I am skeptical of any great performance, in that one and all could be the result of drugs. I gain more excitement out of watching high schoolers improve or collegians overcome; but I gain little satisfaction from watching elites break world records. I cannot help but be skeptical, given the norms and accepted practices of but the few who have been caught. I'd rather see a 'clean' weekend warrior pr.
Regina's world record would be significant, if after the race, he ran to the locker room and pissed in a cup. Then she could run a victory lap. Her success on the track is evident, but her means to achieving that success is definately questionable.
We'll give you the world record, if you give us some pee and blood. Otherwise, you wear a big question mark on your forehead.
