the guy running 5:04 for the mile as a freshman doesnt necessarily show that he doesnt have any talent. it could show that he was a little runt or was just in terrible shape. hell, i ran the mile in 5:30 my freshman year and the half-mile in 2:07 my sophomore year and got my times down to 432 and 1:55 my senior year. clearly not in the same league as 4:08...i'm just saying talent can blossom quickly after puberty.
