Mead is better at 5k and he's not as proven at tactical races as Rupp and Lagat. I wouldn't rule out Jenkins kick if the pace lags. I think Fernandez and Derrick should work together to run a steady pace and try to pick up the pieces in the last lap if anybody falls back.

Pretty sure I saw him on the podium last year.

Mead has run so much better than True this year.where are you getting you "i think" feelings from?

Letsrun's 10k preview says that Diego's "Come back from marathon Trials hasn’t been smooth". You seem to be confident in his ability to push it in the middle and keep it hot. Does anyone know either way how he's doing before tomorrow night?

This was my first thought. They might all 4 enter the last lap together, but it will be after a sub-60 penultimate.

And in that race in Birmingham, Farah won w/ a 53 low last lap, Alimerew 53 high

I wish Alimerew was in his 2012/2013 shape, but sadly he hasn't gotten back to that form

Anyways, I think a 56 last lap will win this, especially w/ Rupp dropping a sub 60 penultimate lap

Last year, Rupp popped a 57 from 1k to go to 600m to go, and then cruised in to the finish, while True and Mead were hanging on for dear life

I also think that Mead is better than people are giving him credit for. When he ran 13:04 at Pre he crushed True, who ran 13:12. They both have fairly close 1500s this year; Mead was slower, but his was a win against soft competition (aka the other OTC guys).

Mead second easily. True probably third. Lagat maybe 5th. I think at least Jenkins and maybe one or two others can take him.

Lagat was 27:49 2 months ago, with a 2:02 final 800m. Plus, he's Lagat. Rupp was outkicked last week. I say Rupp & Lagat are top 2, with equal chance of either winning.
