So, imagine if Coe lost. Doesn't that mean Sergei Bubka would have won? And with him, would Russia be essentially ruling the IAAF?

Szabo?! Wasn't that the lady that had a car boot full of blood boosting products in the 90's?!?! Why would anyone have her speak at a gala?!?!
Sonia O'Sullivan also wonders about that car and the blood boosting products in it. That occurred in 2003, three years after Sydney (between 1997 and 2001, she won seven world or Olympic golds, a silver, and a bronze!) and coincided with the rapid end of her career.

A news story that gives Steve Miller's background and explains his connection to Nike/Phil Knight:
Because USATF has Steve Miller on the job. Quit it, all you sophomoric people—he’s neither a joker, a smoker nor a midnight toker. But he was the director of Global Sports Marketing at Nike prior to 2009, when he joined the USATF board of directors. He steps up to fill the chairman seat of that board vacated by Stephanie Hightower. Hightower will now be the USATF representative at the IAAF, a position 85 percent of USATF members wanted Bob Hersh to have. The good folks on the board at USATF disregarded that vote entirely and named Hightower to the international spot. Steve Miller was in on that sleight of hand.http://fittish.deadspin.com/the-iaafs-new-president-is-on-nikes-payroll-1725250200Luckily, Miller has put all those Nike associations and allegiances behind him. All those Nike connections, and the troubling doping associations. All in the past. What’s that you say? Hanging out with dopers? A Nike executive?
USATF doesn’t allow just any greasy bum to chair their board of directors. Under a headline that reads, “Hightower Quits USATF Post; New Chair’s Ties to Drug Cheat Noted,†the Times of San Diego reported this about Miller, in addition to his past life with Nike:
Miller is CEO of Agassi Graf Holdings, the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education, and BILT by Agassi and Reyes. ...Miller’s role in the Agassi camp concerned Bob Weiner, a Washington-based Democratic strategist who volunteers as a USATF masters track publicist.
“Agassi is a fun guy and a known tennis champion, but in his autobiography he admitted taking banned stimulant drugs during his Grand Slam tournaments and tennis knew and knows but did nothing about it,†Weiner said via email.
At the very highest echelon of track and field, we’ve got people on the Nike payroll, people who are going to do everything they can to prop up track’s sterling reputation, people who hang with drug cheats because they’re fun and probably throw good parties. What could go wrong?
Who rode Steve Miller's coattails into Nike's Evil Empire? John Capriotti.

"Allegation 1: That Seb Coe was aware of the detailed allegations of corruption within the IAAF made by the Shobukhovas that sparked the ethics commission investigation four months before the corruption allegations became public."
Good god, Seb and cronies are so out to lunch they don't know the difference between Shobukhova (Russian marathoner paying bribes) and the Stepanov's (RUSADA whistleblowers on the lam for spilling the beans).
Just plain stupid.

The game is up, old sport! Bad form Seb! Bad form!
So when does Hightower get to take over?

Why do you hate winners?
The real answer is widespread corruption is the norm at the IAAF.

Why yes. Yes it is. Now she is apparently the head of the Romanian Sports Ministry.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/athletics/2404075/Athletics-Drugs-blow-for-Szabo.htmlHermans says "anemic" athlete needed drugs along with Szabo's progesterone that was in the car.
Incredible.

Very good point. Pleaaaase people let Coe do his job. If he steps down we end up with Bubka and then the sport will be in a terrible place. You can be sure Russia will be reinstated in no time and corruption will continue just like before.

Jos Hermens is not telling the truth. Actovegin would not be used to treat anemia and would not be effective to treat anemia. That story is nonsense.

http://www.golobos.com/news/2007/8/30/209057656.aspxThe list includes Gabriela Szabo, Paula Radcliffe, Khalid Skah, N. Morceli, Joshua Thugwane, Gert Thys, and others. There was a Russian runner who still holds the 'up' record for the Comrades ultramarathon that lived in Albuquerque back then. He is now back in Russia 'coaching' Russian athletes. The name of this Russian runner is Dr. Leonid Shvetsov.

How about you?

Problem is, that only people of questionable character can swim towards the top of a corrupt organization, and survive there. See also FIFA. So, if said organization then insists to choose the new president from the set of old vice presidents (Platini!), nothing of significance will change.
Points in case were shown in the beginning of this thread, and further indications are the imperium of British buddies that Coe is constructing as we speak, and the lack of British positives, although they had a lot more Olympic Champions than the oh-so-dirty Russian in 2012.
I'd love to see Coe step down, and get a complete new leadership for the IAAF.
Here is a list of some 2:03 marathon runners:
1) Dennis Kimetto- 2:02:57, 2:03:45 managed by Gerard Van De Veen (NED)
2) Eliud Kipchoge- 2:03:05, managed by Jos Hermens (NED)
3) Emmanuel Mutai- 2:03:13, 2:03:52 managed by Michel Boeting (NED)
4) Wilson Kipsang-2:03:23, 2:03:42 managed by Gerard Van De Veen (NED)
5) Geoffrey Mutai- 2:03:02, managed by Gerard Van De Veen (NED)
6) Moses Mosop- 2:03:06, managed by Jos Hermens (NED)
7) Haile Gebrselassie-2:03:59, managed by Jos Hermens (NED)
Do you see a pattern with these 2:03 marathon runners?
ALL of them have managers from the Netherlands.
That is just a coincidence.
This is a minor, irrelevant point because we know that all Russians are dopers, so distinguishing between blowing a whistle or pay a bribe is nit-picking. How do we know this? Because the Brits beat them all in London. Beside, Shobukhova couldn't even get within 3 minutes of Paula's record, so it's clear she wasn't doping.Logic, son. Use your brain.

Yes, it's time for the Brits and Americans to benefit from the corruption--the old ways of doing business have got to go!

The Dutch phrase "Nu komt de aap uit de mouw" means "The monkey is coming out of the sleeve," and is used to indicate a topic is becoming clear.P.S. Dutch is what they speak in the Netherlands, which is also known as Holland. If you say they are speaking Hollandaise, they'll dump a mayonnaise based sauce on your head.
