I don't think he would deny that the US sprinters have a doping history. No one seems excited about Gatlin being back. USADA could do better fighting it but I have not see any indication that USADA does what the Russians did. In general USADA is trying to catch people.
There should be criticism for UKAD and IAAF, which is a marketing function that handled testing.
Of course that is true of many major sports too (doesn't make it right).

At the end of the day, nobody believes team USA is clean. They've been doing that blame-the-Russians crap for more than 30 years now, and they always turn up just as dirty if not dirtier, including the systemic corruption, e.g. the covered-up positives in 1988.
But is the difference in doping due to the difference in societies? Democratic vs. Putin's dictatorship. I feel like a lot of the Russian athletes train under the state system of coaches...where in the USA are more or less free to choose your coach (other than if your sponsor limits your options)
In the US the willingness to cheat is all about the money.
Clerk. That was a great Jaksche interview. They were not going to Spain for the training. Some other people think differently about Brits "training in Spain" today.
I thought the interview really showed how there is nothing sexy or cool about autologous blood transfusions with sketchy doctors like Dr. "Blood" Fuentes. Nobody said to stop the madness.
I am more of a fan of Tygart than everyone here. He was the chief lawyer in the BALCO case. He was the guy who finally got Lance Armstrong (when everyone thought he was untouchable), and he is investigating Alberto "Androgel" Salazar right now.

It is totally ridiculous that Tyson Gay got some 6 month? ban. I can't even remember what it was, but it should of been 2 years. I did not see any important revelations or other busts that came from "cooperation" by Tyson Gay. Also, I do not remember if they ever announced the actual drugs that he tested positive for. Which anabolic steroid was it? and HGH also?
It seemed at the time that there was no transparency. Sound familiar?
In conclusion: USATF and USOC are full of corruption.
Not a shocker…since my doping glass is not viewed as either half empty or half full.

I'll try to balance out your esteem with some of my negativity around Tygart with another cycling example:Tom Danielson was a cyclist with Lance Armstrong. Testified against him, got a reduced ban, and said he hadn't touched the stuff since then. He tested positive for Testosterone in July. USADA has really bungled the case, with very little transparency as to the situation. Here are some quotes from last November:
In August, USADA acknowledged only an “adverse analytical finding†for Danielson in an out-of-competition test July 9, but the organization did not name what it had found. That test led to a suspension by his team.

He was tested in July, announced in August by USADA, suspended by his team, and then no word. No information, nothing.
Even the team director knew nothing:
“The amount of official information that I have is very small,†Vaughters said. “I was never officially informed by USADA that he tested positive. I haven’t been informed by the UCI, either. I have no idea where the B sample is or isn’t. Not a clue. I don’t know if Tom is taking the case to arbitration. From an official standpoint, the only thing I know is that on August 3, Tom Danielson tweeted that he had tested positive for synthetic testosterone. When I called [USADA general counsel] Bill Bock, he confirmed that there had been an adverse A.â€

So when was his B sample finally tested? It was a big mystery for months. Was Danielson delaying the test? Was he going to accept the ban?

We found that out in February. USADA has given no more information since then.
He is not officially sanctioned as of yet. His contract was not renewed, but he is still training according to his strava and Twitter.
So here we have USADA either being deliberately slow, hush hush and disinformation, or suffering from legal battles it is not winning.
Tygart has done some good. So has Dick Pound. But to think that we have any heroes in this sport is misguided. Who we choose to support comes down to the pros outweighing the cons. (With regards to Tygart, many fan believe his "we got Lance" or general "we are so effective" propaganda masks the extent of doping issues, a con greater than any individuals' bans)
They sure did keep it quiet. I have not even heard of Danielson testing positive in 2015 at all until your post.
