Seems like he has a New Balance sponsorship via Big Bear Track Club.
Could be a similar situation to athletes in groups like the Brooks Beasts, Bowerman TC, OTC etc.
I suspect that after breaking contract with Nike in the way that he did (after something like only three months) he's barred from officially signing with another shoe sponsor for a little while; thus, he's got a sort of under the table deal with NB through Big Bear TC. That's just speculation though of course.
I highly doubt Brooks offerer him a contract because you cannot do that without an agent. I bet they tested the waters to see if he was considering going pro (as they should after what he did last year).
I would like to see him sign with the Beasts. Symmonds is an older vet and won a US title there, Loxsom has run very well there, the D-II kid Windle just got 4th at Drake beating some decent names. It would be cool to see them sign a big talent like Murphy.

I meant it was against NCAA regulations for a regional mark. Sorry if that was confusing Boss Man.
I called this out when Berian won the WC Gold Indoors that Murphy would've been your World Champion. He should've skipped NCAAs..
Why not mile on the track this year? This is the first time I can remember that there was no elite mile.
