See thread on FL flops. They have done better in the past with non footlocker types, ala Dickie Boulet.

Butler for sure...5th at ncaa championships, coach of the year, and Ill be going there!
UNCG is doing better as well.
I would take Ohio State and Indiana and their respective coaches against any others. With more scholarship dollars at their disposal, they'd be at the very top at NCAA Cross. They have had great success with the few individual studs thay have gotten!
Florida

HAHAHAHAHA!
IONA COLLEGE baby. watch out they're comin...4th in 2003 7th in 2004 at NCAA's. All you haters better recognize...
Kittley works his butt off. He is not a cheater as you are claiming. When most NCAA coaches are on the golf course, he is in the office working 12-14 hours a day and this is 12 monthes a year.
Watch out in 2005 because it will get even better.
29 NCAA Division II National Championships at A.C.U. speaks loudly, you Loser.
If you are a track coach that does not golf, then you have a chance to be great. Example: Coach McDonnell at
Arkansas(non-golfer).

Charlotte I'll give you but not Liberty. Yeah, they got Josh McDougal and his little bro but other than that what do they have? They got another guy who was sub 4:10 or so in HS and now sucks. Josiah Melly transferred and I believe they finished around 12th at regionals. One runner does not a team make.
Liberty is a very young team though, and they ran without red-shirt Jordan McDougal this past cross country season, just adding him to the mix next year is going to take Liberty to a whole new level. Plus, I would bet that Liberty will pick up at least one or two more guys that can contribute to their squad next year. Like it or not Liberty, along with their Big South rivals High Point, are going turn some heads in the southeast region over the next few years.
Yeah, but who the hell would want to go to liberty? They aren't great academically, they may have Josh McDougal but besides that not much, and they are all extremely religious and would have trouble attracting a lot of people.
Southwest Missouri best hope those kenyans are legit...often times struggling programs feel they've got to recruit abroad to compete and end up getting duds.
SMS best hold out on predictions until you see these guys compete. They could be broken Kenyans.
I would say Maryland. Did not lose an ACC championship between 1950ish and the late 1970s. Program fell off since then but is rejuvinated under new head coach Andrew Valmon (2 time oly. gold medalist with Michael Johnson 4x400m). Lots of young talent coming in on both the distance and sprint sides. Track budget has doubled this year alone with much more strong alumni support coming in the near future.

Oh yeah, you mean like BYU? There are a lot of great HS kids of faith who would love to run for a school that had a great running program along with strong religious values. You have to start somewhere.
doesnt byu have decent academics though?
Decent academics and good academics are two different things. Most colleges, including Liberty, have decent academics. It's not like Liberty's academics are horrible, there just not very good. And that was a very good point about BYU, because many good runners go there and they also have very strict rules.
Liberty also has one of the Best Young Decathletes in the nation. The just got their old coach back that helped them win IC4A's in 1996. They will get much better trust me.
I would second the Indiana and Ohio State call; Chapman and Gary will be up their with the top 5 programs once they get to be head coaches (Scholarship money). Throw in Quintana at ASU as well.
