This has nothing to do with T&F. It has to do with theese indoor WCs are terrible. There's maybe 4-5 top level athletes at this entire meet. It's a pitiful championship that nobody trained for because this is an Olympic year. If this was the Outdoor WC or Olympic track you know it would be on tv all day.

Pump the brakes a little and relax.

They had a replay of the Millrose Games on ESPN this afternoon.

I dozed off but rallied when my dog pestered me for a walk.

And I still consider myself a track fan. I semi-watched last week as well and hey the results were the same.

Put yourself in the network execs tasseled loafers. Which demographic would your beer and bacon advertisers rather have: track and field fans or curling fans?

I went curling for the first time a few weeks ago with some friends. It is a ton of fun. I could get in to it if it weren't so expensive.

I work at one of the 2 Sport Broadcasters in Canada. The only hockey games that have higher ratings are CBC Saturday , Toronto vs Montreal. Bulk pre media buys , curling is higher.

I know there are ratings even for NBCSN so maybe curling is watched more--or data shows that advertisers will buy curling air time.

Editing the track meet is probably a reason as well.

What makes curling more popular on TV than T&F? Curling does not have Masback announcing it. Plain and simple. No better way to kill off TV viewership than to have Old Craig doing the announcing

Exactly right. Having people run around in circles indoors has to be one of the dumber things man has come up with.

I mean, if indoor track involved systematized gambling, the way, say, six-day bicycling racing did back in the 1920s-30s, one might see the purpose of it.
