Ha! Sure, it implies whatever YOU want. The statement STATES the future (ie. fastest) of American distance running.
I just watched Harris's 1:46.24. Granted that it was on an oversized track, it is hard to believe what a talent this represents.
He is a freshman running indoors with a 1:49.63 hs pr out of short-season Maine.
He has to slow down and lifts his arms early on because he runs up into the runner ahead of him.
He runs remarkably awkwardly and painfully. He didn't look like he was running anywhere close to that pace.
He looks puffy.
Nonetheless, he runs very close to the best ever American indoor junior time. When he is fully in college shape, loses a little weight, is more cut, and smooths out his form, watch out. Very impressive.

What I mean is- these three guys are doing great, and I hope they have great careers, but I think it is a bit overreaching to think for sure they are going to be world class, as in competing for world medals- I hope they do, but they aren't there yet.
