As a HSer, Gene McCarthy was probably better than either McCarey or Centrowitz although I think Centro was injured for at least part of his senior year at Power.

Dennis Fikes would need to be on that list.

**A few might argue that Jim Spivey should be up there. I don't disagree at all. He could certainly substitute in for any of trunners there excluding the top 3**

I would be very surprised if another state could muster up something like this.

You left Jorge Torres off the list. He only won State XC three times and ran at the olympics.

Yes, Fikes has to be top 7, although I'm torn who to kick out.

McCarthy (and Shields and Hagon mentioned by other poster) are more great names from the '70s. Hagon was remarkable for what he accomplished as a senior in track after playing baseball through his junior year.
