Surprised we didn't see Salazar skulking around calling foul and trying to DQ Heath for slipping on that muddy turn with a few hundred meters to go, as Farah slipped a bit too. Likewise, expected to see Cappriotti issuing death threats because mud from Heath's spikes splattering out Farah's Nike logo.

Rupp has run like crap? His 27:08 10k in the heat of Worlds is without a doubt one of his best races ever. I thougth it was very likely he'd break the American 5000 record after that (obviosly that didn't happen).
The Kenyans were not a challenge at all for Farah. It was a 27+ minute race and he blew them away on the last lap.
Rupp didn't run like crap but it wasn't a good season for him. He got blown away in a slow race at worlds. Like I said before, the heat was not a factor at 79 degrees. His 10k performance is what you would expect of someone only in ~3:58 mile shape at the time. You are exaggerating the effect of mild temperatures on racing.
The entire NOP had a mediocre (for them) season except for maybe Rowbury. I'm probably leaving someone else out.

Farah would have had quite a bit of time off at the end of the track season and not focused on getting fit for this XC, meaning he isn't in great shape ATM.
Not to mention slogging it out on a muddy, hilly course isn't what Farah is good at and doesn't suit his bouncy style at all. He simply couldn't do his sprint finish due to the surface sapping his energy. Look how slow all the times were. Heath went early and built up a lead Farah didn't realise he couldn't close.
Heath is an XC beast, strong and works hard against the ground the whole way, expecting no return of energy from the mud.
It's the end for Mo. He will never win another race again. EVER!!!
would it offing kill Farah to actually help lead a race .... at any point in his life. This sit and kick stuff is the No. 1 reason he will NEVER be considered the GOAT or even close.

AWESOME! Great race for Heath. Had his head down and arms pumping in that typical home stretch style he's known for - works out with the best! But will he make the US Olympic team? 5000 could be his shot but he's not known for blazing 5k speed but in the right race, he could be in the thick of it! I don't think he can take True or Rupp, BUT that third spot could be his!

Damn fine run for Mr. Heath. I'm sure Mr. Farah was a bit stunned, but I doubt the NOP is hitting the panic button.

Farah will never lead in a race because it would cost him several seconds. Drafting makes a significant time difference if your primary skill is kicking. Farah lost for the simple reason that the pace was too fast for him to maximize his skill.

What you posted is irrelevant to what I said. I specifically said "it wasn't a good season FOR HIM". If El G had a season where he could only run 3:31 after running 3:26 then the same thing would apply to him even though as you say "how many Americans so you suppose have ever run 3:31".
27:08 is not a good time for Rupp for a 100% effort. If it was sit and kick, then it'd be different but 27:08 was him maxed out that day and that isn't good. It's a step backward.

Last time i checked Derrick has won what 3 US titles in a row. Heath has won zero.
One thing I will say is this is why XC should have more importance placed on it, such as making it a winter Olympic event.
Guys like Heath are OK on the track but not world beating, but beasts on a muddy XC course where things are completely different. They should get their time to shine too.
Don't think the Kenyans would come out and win it, they are used to running firm trails and roads and would suffer to strong runners like Heath.
