Spring of 1985, I was 19. I ran both marathon and 10 mile PRs. I also ran 2, 3 and 5 mile, 5000 and 10000m PRs either en-route to the 10 mile PR or in training. I had trained harder in HS but something just clicked that winter.

Last time I PR'd over any distance was in the summer of 2002. I raced a 10 miler, finished second behind some fast old dude in 52:49. Course was flat except for the first and last mile. Little incline out and finished a little downhill. It bums me out because I can barely hack 8:30's over 10! I was 19 then, and weighed roughly 70 pounds less. I was about 6'0" 130 lbs, then, now a shade over 200. I can remember thinking back then that I would never let myself go...
Track PR July? 1979 for 10000 m, allcomers meet.
Road PR Sept., 1981 the old Victoria, BC marathon, age 33.
Ran into injury problems a lot of the time following those somewhat epic races.
Continue to run minimal mileage these days.
about two and a half weeks ago. it helps when you're PR's are slow
Great question OP.
My last pr was my first and only sub-4 mile back in 2012. I'm not sure I will PR again unless I run the marathon distance. But, I still have some great years of running to look forward to.
Last week 8k at sac state invite
Boston 2014.

PRed 3x last track season, 3000m SC, 5000m, 1500m
Nineteen-ninety three, 3000m s/c at age 36.
Set age-graded PRs at 5000m and 1500m at 53. Age-graded PR for 3000m at age 55.
Competitive runner since 14, ran club track in England until about 38, road and masters track in the U.S. since.
Not convinced that a long career means you have to tail off badly with age if you keep the intensity up.
Today. Everyday I run I set a PR for my I age.
2000 - 100m, 200m, 400m
2004 - 800m, 1500m, Mile
2006 - 5k, 8k
2009 - 10 Mile
Last December at 45, I set pr's at marathon and 10M, and I set a pr enroute at 5M in a 10k pr on Thanksgiving just before. I thought I was in 5000m pr shape in the spring, based on track workouts, but in the heat of the night it was not to be. And I came within a minute of my half marathon pr in February after just starting to get better from a cold that day but could surely have smashed the pr if I had been healthy and gotten in my workouts the previous three weeks, as I had been running really well.

Dude, you're ~32. So is Mo Farah. Get back on the saddle if you want to.
I set a bunch of PRs this summer (at 26) because I ran races >800 m. seriously for the first time. It was a lot of fun!

28 years old now; 27 for all my recent PRs. I'm sure I could easily PR in the 800, and probably PR in the 400, but my relative fitness is a lot higher in the longer events.
