Chico always starts the season strong. Always hear how they are going to win a title, talk is cheap. Just wait until November they never perform as well at nationals. Look at the past two years, they've had deep squads( low 14 guys, sub 29 minute 10k) and still couldn't get top 3 in D2.

Like when they win conference and regionals every year? The other conference and regional teams must be really sh1tty(they are except for Pomona). The other cal states are like 5-6 year community colleges. Terrible school system.
Don't be surprised when both the Oregon Men and Women beat Stanford at the Washington Invite on Friday. Stanford recruits very very well but Oregon has them out coached by well a lot. :) GO DUCKS While the Oregon men have no shot at an NCAA team title this year all Colorado :( the Oregon Women sure do. :) should be a 2 team race at NCAA's on the Women's side with Oregon and New Mexico

I wouldn't be surprised at all. The chances that Stanford runs a full squad is (again) probably close to nil. It's really annoying.
I would be very surprised indeed if the Oregon women won NCAAs.
Well don't be surprised if the Oregon Women win NCAA's. Also wish Stanford was running Fisher so Oregon could beat Stanford at full strength. While Fisher was slightly better then Maton in High School and way better then Anderson don't be surprised if the 2 Oregon freshman are better in College then Fisher better 20 times better coaching at Oregon then Stanford. Also can't wait to see Hull in action as well as Baxter those 2 lady Ducks plus Neer and Grabill give Oregon a solid top 4 throw in the fact that Oregon has 8 or so other ladies that could be it's 5th at NCAA's and Oregon is way way deep on the Women Side. Curious to see who Oregon 2-5 runners will be on the Men side this year behind the King I'm guessing Gill,and who knows??????? anyways GO DUCKS
Don't get me wrong...I have reason to be a Stanfurd hater...but the academic load alone & pressure to be perfect means that consistency, health & retention of top athletes (when they realize there is life after running...especially on the women's side) is going to be a challenge there. I'm not saying it can't be done...Lannana did it. But it's different when you don't have to go to class & can basically be a professional athlete. I'm not saying an Oregon degree is worthless by any means...but the two institutions are very different environments...one is a lot better for distance running success than the other.

The coaching is great. The last few years have been loaded with headcase runners and runners who were into running for 2-3 years who just checked out mentally.
2000-2011 was one story
2012 through last year was a different one
Young and new roster this year, could prove themselves tough when it matters. No promises.
Also as a function of high school times versus college times, definitely can't say the coaching is horrible. As with any program, some people just don't make it. But the majority improve vastly.
Wow I was right Oregon beat Stanford and they did it without 2 of their top 7? Haney and Leingang way to go Oregon. Also nice to see the Oregon women beat Stanford as well going 2-4-6. GO DUCKS BABY YEAH
