Stanford has huge potential this fall if they can keep the Rosa twins healthy (and that's a big if). Jim Rosa finished 5th a couple years ago, Joe Rosa was great last year, but had an off day and "only" finished 33rd. McGorty looks like a top 10-15 guy, and Fisher has top-20 written all over him.

On the Colorado side I'm very interested to see what Zach Perrin and John Dressel look like this year.

A two-time Footlocker champion with 3:59/8:43 is not a guy to redshirt when he is very likely to be a pro prospect for 1500m/5000m even prior to his senior year and you have senior twins who, if they both run this year, plus McGorty, give a chance of making a run at CU for the title. This is a team where you have three legitimate threats for top five (so, all three, if healthy, should be in the top ten) and Fisher should be top fifteen, if not top ten as well. You are talking about the possibility of, say, 25-30 pts after 4 men, just needing one more guy to step up to finish under 60-70.

Look, I could be way off on this, I mean, what do I know. But , I do not think you go to Stanford to go "pro" after 1-2 or even three seasons.Who did that?

Plus Drew Hunter might be going there too?

There was a lot of thought that went into his college choice, you can bet on that.

And going to Stanford, running like 7:50 or even 40's for 3K and then leaving is probably NOT in that thought process .

Plus, after watching the end of his HS and Juniors races. I am not so sure he is this automatic "look like a Pro" wunderkind others think.

Do not get me wrong, but his curve is going to be hard to keep moving upward steeply in the short term. He ran really fast.

I say he is a 4 year College runner who gets really really good, and I hope he stays healthy.

I think he runs this year. He did look tired by the end of track. If he got some rest and is responding to training I would run him.I can't decide what to expect long term. I thought of him as 1500 runner who moves up to 5000.

Maybe Stanford is just gonna introduce a gentle step up in training. Let Grant adapt and get ahold, and where ever this point of training lands him this year, so be it. With the rumors we hear about Stanford bringing him along slow and easy, maybe that means a couple year down the road plan.

what's your point? i don't think others are arguing that he's going to leave before 4 years. they're arguing that if he redshirted this fall, he'd be unlikely to come back and use his remaining cross eligibility when he could go pro summer after graduating

are you nuts? 3 legit shots for top 5? stanford must have some talented walk-on because nobody else is gonna be top 5 without a lot of luck.

fisher is a ~3:41/~8:05 type right now at best. how does that make him a top 10k contender in ncaa xc?
