All that needs to be said, they're the best, New Jersey produces the best.
^this. CBA wins the MOC virtually every year, they actually won with their JV team in 2012 after the MOC was delayed to the day before NXN regionals. Every year their top 7 is all sub 16:40 (sometimes sub 16:30) at Holmdel, which is WAY harder than California's "cross country" courses. And every year there are a couple of other teams that aren't extremely far behind. And for those who say NJ hasn't produced anyone good: Robby Andrews.
Nobody is going to have better runners that Louisiana and we do it in the heat and humidity. 20 runners sub 15 in 95 degree heat and 90% humidity. Sure yall have better times up north but it is also 60 degrees out
Plus, in NY you have to go through a grueling end of the season- Sectionals (for some teams this is tough) States, Feds (if you choose to go), then a 3rd State Championship in Regionals.
This year there are about 10 schools that can get the 2 spots.
if any of these kids from NY, Ohio, Delaware, Michigan, etc came down and ran in Louisiana, Mississippi they wouldn't even break 18 minutes. I guarantee you that. I went to HS in NY and ran sub 16 minute 5K. Then when I was visisting New Orleans I ran in a 5K and had to stop and walk. That heat and humidity is tough

MAYBE if you were running in said states for a while when it was cool and then ran in high heat and humidity. Here in Ohio, we see 100% humidity often in the summer and kids train through that. The first meet of the season, it was 90 degrees and humid when the gun went off and the winner ran 15:50.
Colorado. California has the fastest team in the nation, but CO had 4 team in the top 11 at RunningLane.
Utah is up there too. 5 teams in the top 17 at RunningLane.
I don’t disagree with Colorado as a pick, but Runninglane is an incomplete snapshot to rank states. If anything, it demonstrates the dedication of many Colorado schools and families to spend the money to send so many teams to a hard to get to location across the country.
It of course would also be a great way to rank the teams that went.

Over 2000 kids from 48 states and multiple countries tell me otherwise. It was actually pretty easy to get to.
