So, you wouldn't mind if UO dropped men's track & field like their bretheren down at OSU. The you could have your NCAA XC-only four scholarships for XC.
Since you know so little about UO's track tradition maybe you didn't realize that "the Bills" really didn't care much about cross country except the years when they knew they had very good teams. Bowerman would sometimes not even take a team to XC nationals back in the days when anybody could go to the meet.
In truth Oregon was built more by milers until Pre made his way to Eugene.
Martin Smith is an outstanding XC coach. He has the national championship rings to prove it.
Anybody who has spent any amount of time in Eugene would love to see the Duck distance sqaud return to prominence. Your rants will not make that happen.
