Obviously most of us here on LR graduated from clown colleges, otherwise we wouldn't be here.
Good for her-now she can concentrate on being the second best white female sprinter in the world. Interesting that all three "Oregon trained female sprinters" at the Worlds really faded. That collegiate oriented season (indoor meets, league and NCAA championships) is not conducive to top mid summer performances or developing international-level track stars.
The question is...will she be beating Candace Hill next year? And who will Hill be running for? Has Puma just ceded Hill to Nike?
Prandini has the ability to be the next Allyson Felix, on and off the track. That's why the companies had a nice little battle for her, with PUMA winning out.
At 22 years old:
Felix, 11.01 / 21.81
Prandini, 10.92 / 22.20
A possible reason she may have turned Pro early is if she runs in college the coach would have her peak for the NCAA meet and she would on empty as she was today when the Olympics come around ( IF she makes it, USA has a never ending line of up and coming sprinters) Ironically if she did peak at NCAA had she stayed in school it would PROBABLY INCREASE her chance of making the team as she would go into the trials razor sharp coming off of NCAA, but she would likely not have anything left come the Olympics, the key will be to be in good enough shape to make the USA team and still have top condition come the Olympics no easy feat. Not impossible, but very difficult.

I think she was a redshirt anyway so it was about the right time. It might do her good to leave the Oregon area to work with a pro-oriented sprint coach . Would be great to see her train with Allyson Felix.

Honest question: do any countries structure this better?
I never understood how it was possible in the U.S. system to do well enough to get onto the main stage and then do well there. Leavedrugs out of the question to keep it simpler.

Can you remind me the names of the guys who won the Bronze medal over 100m.
I'm pretty sure that they were competing in the same track than Prandidni & Todd at NCAA's, one of them even shined at Toronto pan ams this year
yes but at 22, Felix was already twice World champion over 200m (2005,2007) .
Track has become more competitive since 2005, 2007.

Fyi...she is staying in school and training in Eugene.
I heard she was getting $10 million a year from Puma through 2020.

I doubt $4K is true, I don't think she is getting half that amount. $4K is for athletes expected to challenge for medals. She was never a medal contender as some people suspected. The only reason she made the U.S. team this year was the gift Félix gave her. I am not saying she's overrated, but NCAA sprinters tend to produce fast early season times because of their schedule, whereas the pros are peaking for August. I think she has potential to be good, but I am not sure she can break out of the crowded field of 10.9x and 22,2x sprinters. The U.S. has a half dozen women in the category and there are a dozen more around the world.
She has a nice butt.
She is getting OVER a million bucks. Puma gave her an offer she could not refuse, Nike wanted her to return to Oregon for her Sr. year then they would take care of her but not at the figure Puma offered.
if Felix dusts here doesn't she come second at the trials?
