Good thread.
These are the list of coaches who don't go around kissing ass to be some pseudo coach who will get the chance to go over seas and pretend to coach athletes who they have no idea about. These are the coaches who actually care about the athletes performances and actually want to win.
1. Kevin Donner
2. Richard Alexander
3. Dan Frake
4. Bryan Delsite
Legitimately one of the best coaching staffs in the country. They have each done a tremendous job in building the talent that they have and fielding a competitive and complete (balanced) track and field team despite the fact that Bucknell cannot offer any men's scholarships for track and field. And although the men's team was not quire as strong this past year, the women were very successful.
My friend is out in San Jose, went from 15.15 to 14.25 in one season - Coach Wick knows his stuff!

But, by working with them, don't know they get to know them?

Larry Greer rarely gets mentioned, he developed Orange Coast into the best Cross Country program in California, then made Cal State L.A. a decnt program from nothing, then he had more success at Golden west, he was coached by Ted Banks (who had major success at UTEP) at Long Beach State, and he improved on Banks methods, Greer is currently taking a sabatical, but he wants to get back into coaching to win and develop world record holders.

So another thread for people to subjectively bump their friends or buddies from their alma-mater during the high point in hiring. Its laughable that die-hards of this sight seem intent on assuming established coaches look at Letsrun for their candidate information. If they do, those aren't very good coaches. Also simply because your at a Big school doesn't mean your "heard of" and just because you've spent many years at Microscopic State University doesn't mean you could immediately step into a Power 5 Job and "dominate" its seems we have just as much wrong in this country with Coaching identification as we do with Talent identification.
I'll toss my old college coach for #1. Mark Lech at UMaine, who coached Riley Masters for three years (and a sub 4), turned a girl pro, and years back coached (or briefly coached, I can't remember) Erik Nedeau (who went on to run at the Olympics level). He also dominated as coach with Northeastern in the early 90s. And, to top it off, he himself still holds the New England 800m record at 1:47ish.

Wow - keep telling yourself that. What is next? Are you going to say these less reconized and less paid coaches didn't have the opportunity that the major division 1 coaches had.
Or better yet. Is that true in football and basketball also?
No, it's just these smaller schools that have coaches that constantly gripe about little recognition for them and their athletes. That is why we have the pitiful regional system. AND THEY STILL DONT MAKE IT...
How about Eric Blake at THE Central Connecticut State University
That's a name I love to hate... mainly because I wish I went to CCSU after seeing how good their whole team got in just a few years.. mad respect
