Don't own a Mellotron. Just always been into prog; early Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, Gentle Giant, Moody Blues, Tangerine Dream...

It's for schools that have running clubs that compete in one national race...so like ten schools at most?
Schools like U of O have really good club teams that would beat alot of lower division schools. Unfortunately, I have no clue why these runners would want to go to U of O if they are good enough to compete elsewhere and have slim margins of making the ridiculously stacked U of O team.
Are you sure he graduated from a US high school? He is German, also runs for the top club Wattenscheid. If he is studying, I would assume he did his Abitur in Germany so he would have completed his schooling when he was 19-20, and after that there was still mandatory army/civil service (it's since been abolished). This means he may have been about 21-22 when he finally started Uni/College. Not unusual at all.

He graduated from a high school in Missouri, not Germany, 8 years ago.

NIRCA actually has a huge amount of clubs show up for the national race (making it too big of a race honestly), and sponsors regional races. I simply stated the fact that Jannis ran for University of Texas Club Team, in order to better track the timeline for his eligibility. Running for a NIRCA team does not use up a year of NCAA eligibility.
