Symmonds has run this year, but not well - 1:49 I believe. He hasn't run well since he went to Brooks. He doesn't run enough mileage 50 mpw to be a legitimate 1500m runner.
Symmonds just ran 1:46 in PR.

Jenny Simpson holds off Mercy Cherono with Sifan Hassan third. I think this bodes well for Mercy's 5ks.
Nick Symmonds made the mistake of his career when he left rowland for brooks. I understand that it was partially financial and "product" oriented, but you can't sell product when you're blowing a** in running. No one is buying anything from a washed up nobody. Should have stayed where he had success, but instead he pulls a Jeremy Wariner and is struggling to be relevant. I called this a long time ago.

Symmonds just got smoked in a 3x400m workout by Cas Loxsom. It's all over Periscope. Cas is having a great year so far, but still not a good sign for Symmonds. I hope he can turn it around, but it would have been a disaster had he finished way last at Pre. May be time for some new faces in the American 800m scene to make some championship teams (Cas, Jock, Wizzo, Jock, Andrews, Sowinski, etc.)

If anyone can get back on track and relevant again, it will be Nick Symmonds.
1:46 while he's about ten lbs overweight is not bad at all. And he knows how to race, he has the experience.
I'm rooting for him to make the US Team.
Some of these other guys are too fit, too soon.
