My old HS team beat a vastly superior team at their sectional championships last fall. There was no difference of opinion. My HS was at best the fifth or sixth (if not the eighth) best team in the section overall, the second best within the school size. They ended up second overall that day, outclassing schools twice their size and no one knew what happened. My guys ran the right races as best they could and no one else put it together--which is also a mark of a quality team (if you can race when it counts). There's no prize at the end of the season for the most impressive team resume on paper: the medals matter.
I wanted Wisconsin to win. I didn't want Stanford to suck as much as they did (although in fairness, they still are one of the best teams in the nation). Colorado won and they ran very impressively given the team's youth. I'm impressed. They performed. Wetmore is a good coach.
