this is interesting - Jenny and rowbury are obvious, but then it gets cloudy for the other two spots.

I'd say Moser is likely, if she can stay with it all summer (not a given)...and then I'd love to see Cain, but she hasn't shown much lately. Maybe one of these college milers holds it together? Uceny? Charnigo?

No disrespect to Molly, because I am fan, but the USR 5K record is perhaps the softest on the books; the record should be nearly 10 seconds faster. Btw, I think Molly's 5K PR is 14:42.

It's certainly possible that Rowbury could have a better season. She wasn't far off last year. But I am hoping, with all my heart, that Jenny continues to be the best we have.

facts:

1. jenny simpson has faster pr's at 800/1500/mile/3000 than shannon rowbury (js mile pr is actually from 5th avenue mile, but still 1 second faster than sr)

2. jenny simpson has 2 global championship medals, both more recent than shannon rowbury's 1 global championship medal

3. jenny simpson was a more accomplished runner in high school and college than shannon rowbury

4. jenny simpson is the more accomplished runner as a professional

5. jenny simpson is 2 years younger than shannon rowbury

If Jenny chose to run the 1500m at 2009 Worlds, I doubt Shannon would have a medal, I think Jenny would have beaten her. She beat Rowbury by 4 seconds at Pre when she ran 359.

So despite the fact that Jenny has been better than Shannon every single year besides 2012, we think she will get dominated? There might be a few good races this year but when it really comes down to it the result will be the same: Jenny kicking Shannon's teeth in.
