They are sold at NASCAR.com and have something to do with the Rick Hendricks Bone Marrow Program

Hey, I saw a campaign for anti bullying, in schools and Rio Ferdinand was wearing a blue wristband. I think it symbolises support against bullying.
The blue band worn by Mr Potato head (Rooney) is part of a campaign in the UK led by the BBC to stamp out bulling at school and in the workplace.
Around BYU campus they are selling ones that say "BYU Cougars" or something, adn they are dark blue.
Some places in Oregon (Corvallis especially) are selling ones that say "findbrooke.com" to raise money for the search for the missing girl from there (who was also a BYU student, that's how I know about it).
i hear some kids at georgetown started a company with these and are doing them for a bunch of schools and raising money for athletic departments. check out

Is there any reason why you typed VIPAM instead of webbfan at the bottom your post?

So the wristband thing has officially jumped the shark...
Minor detail: the livestrong bands don't have a swoosh on it.
Major detail: Yes, the bands have become a fashion statement and people buy them for all the 'wrong' reasons. However, with every band purchsed for the 'wrong' reasons, money goes to a good cause. I don't think that those individuals who benefit from the Lance Armstrong foundation really care that some people are buying the bands for fashion. In the end, the bands, Lance Armstrong, and Nike are doing a good thing.
blue bands are also sold for autism awareness

They're ALL f***ing cheesy!! It's another dumb fad that stupid sheep follow, like pet rocks. Apparently it isn't enough to simply support a cause, people now have to make a show out of it and try to draw attention to how altruistic they are, since apparently otherwise others wouldn't be able to tell.
