He's running a similar schedule as last year. But last year he was running 4:12/:14s at this point. He of course won indoor nats with a huge negative 4:09.
That stumble probably added 1.5 seconds to his performance. It totally destroyed his rhythm. He still closed well though.
I assume he's not doing a ton of actual speedwork, which I'd say is quite a good sign to be able to run 4:05 off of.
Looks very strong right now.
Brazier will beat Fisher at outdoor state
Not unless they run at 800M
Fisher is ahead of last year when he ran 4:02.xx mile Outdoors
There is no way no how Barzier beats him at 1500M and up

I am not sure what you are seeing, that race makes sub-4 look less likely. Perhaps Grant could have a run a second faster with a cleaner race, but he also had the benefit of a competitive and perfectly paced race. This kid is talented, but he looks like a racer, to run sub-4, he would have to be more aggressive in hitting splits. Btw, most of the H.S. athletes that ran 4:05/6 indoors, didn't run much faster outdoors. With another week or 2 of training, I can see him running 4:04x in another indoor mile without stumbling and 4:01 outdoors.
Were those other guys two-time Footlocker champions? Were they guys that ran 4:02.02 the spring before? And was that their first year of focusing just on running?Just curious, as you seem to have a pretty good sample of comparable runners from which to establish an educated opinion.
