It was an interesting race. Schrader won with a kick in the last couple of hundred yards that absolutely dominated the others. The finish was not nearly as competitive as the times make it appear. It would be nice if Schrader and Estrada are for real - some new American faces for distance events at 10k and up..

All of those races had prize money, AND appearance money, and lots of it. The Oktoberfest 12k in Itasca had two of the most expensive commodities of the day there -- Ingrid Kristensen and Rob DeCastilla. It was a very big deal.
Yeehaw Malmo has his underwear in a knot. Yes, I forgot about Bay to Breakers. But other than that, why should I know those other races? Or know that they have been run for that many years? You do, because you are that old.
Also, Bay to Breakers? How many top US runners do we get that anymore?Ben Bruce ran this past year? But he isn't exactly the same as Braun in a 12k race.
What is the big deal here?
A 34:10 12k only equates aerobically to a 1:02xx Half, and a 28xx 10k. Hello?
