I said the same thing but then I thought about the one and only person I've ever known who's said the CC's were their favorite band - this person, in retrospect of 15 years, was a 'quietly'-bright person and has gone on to live a successful life despite coming from a difficult childhood. Sounds like intelligence to me. Sample size n= 1.

I don't think you can judge Counting Crows by their radio songs. "August and Everything After" has some good depth besides Mr. Jones.

Radiohead sucks.

A better title might read:

"College students who scored high on the SAT have a tendency to list Radiohead more often than Beyonce on their musical preferences on Facebook, according to study."

I suspect there are very bright student who don't even have Facebook, students who do have Facebook but simply don't put their favorite music on there, students who are brighter than their SAT would indicate, or students who list are bright, scored high on the SAT, are on Facebook, and only list moderately well known music under their favorites. All of this is irrespective of the fact that a person's listed favorites may not correlate very directly with what they listen to the most. I would list Led Zeppelin as being among my favorite artists, but on a given day I'm much more likely to be listening to binaural beats or some violin covers of pop songs.

Interesting result, colored by what barely merits being called "methodology."
