Everyone else who has run low 9.7s has broken down a few short months after. Since 2008 Bolt has done it again and again and again, five years running save for this year a well deserved rest year. Bolt is either on some special sauce that allows him to produce spectacular times AND recover to do it again and again or he is the real deal. Everyone else is playing catchup with or without help.

The context is whether someone intentionally or unintentionally took drugs. That presupposes they took drugs. It's not entirely based on mental attitude.
I've met Bolt. I looked into his eyes and sensed his soul and what I felt was pure and childlike. I believe there is no deception in him.

Talk about cherry picking to change the conversation to race and, of course, Rupp. There were the East German sprinters, the Greek sprinters, the blood dopers who are white. We know that people of all races use drugs. Just look at the Tour de France. When you jumped to Rupp you skipped some names: Nenow, Mottram, Lopes, Mamede, Kennedy, Solinsky, Teg and Ritz. Many had faster 10000 times than the guys you referenced and have faster 5000 times than Rupp does. Some may be on drugs,do you think all of them are?

In retrospect I named a few of the number one or two sprinters in their respective eras that were caught or under suspicion. So your telling me that out of all these men, Bolt is SQUEAKY CLEAN?
Look at all the caucasian olympic medalists of the last 35 years over 10,000 meters:
1980:Maaninka was Finnish blood doper, that goes without saying. 1984:Alberto Cova group pretty much admits to doping, Finnish guy Marti Vanio lost his silver after getting caught. Antibo same story as Cova. So your telling me that out of all these men, Rupp is SQUEAKY CLEAN?

How did he skip those names when none/most of those names aren't Olympic medalists?

EXACTLY.
What it says is that his training and preparation are not in place.
Sprinting is not like distance running--if you go out and try to go your hardest, or hard enough to win, when insufficiently trained and prepared, there is a fair chance that you will injure yourself. Recreational guys like me, who cares--but if I were Bolt and my millions depended on me being able to deliver the goods when the time came, I would also think twice about competing when not in top shape.
Unlike Bolt, though, I would make sure to be in top shape when every outdoor season came around, then after peaking I would consider shutting it down for the rest of the season.
Strange though that he went sub-10 into a slight headwind this year, and he doesn't think that's competitive? One does not go sub-10 into a slight headwind without being in shape. So what if he would likely get beaten in a head-to-head with Gatlin? There is no shame in coming in second, especially in a sub-10 time.
Maybe all he had in him was that one sub-10, maybe that was his peak for the year, and he knows it.
Whatever, that is his call to make. Meantime, we can enjoy Gatlin appearing invincible. It looks like this year he will be not only unbeaten, but unbeatable.
Although I think he will be in a dogfight in the Brussels 100m.
