1. Most of internet message boards are dominated by men. Men like to argue about things. You will find your women on visual based sites like Pinterest and Instagram.
2. A lot of women don't have the stomach for the negativity, attacking, sexism, and narcissism that dominates this site.
Every poster has serious dyslexia. Drives women nuts. ("denigrate" please)

Hey, if I'm not mistaken, that guy "sloot" just demonstrated why women don't post here.
That guy (sl**t) was expressing his personal failures with women. Woman are smart to ignore the very existence of guys like sl**t.
One thing I've noticed on this board - if the poster doesn't clearly identify as female, it is assumed the poster is male.
I sincerely doubt 99.9% of the posters on this site are male.

Why are you afraid of being attacked and criticized? Do you not have the confidence to defend yourself? It also is very easy to just ignore the people that insult you personally. They don't know you and their opinion should be much a concern.

Women who post on here usually focus on the topics of weight, talent and stress fractures so there will understandably be fewer threads started by females.

* ALMOST ALL distance coaches are male - just look around the nation at how many
* MOST competitive athletes are male - just look at the relative depth of men's vs. women's times at your local road race
* MOST sports fans are male - males and females participate equally thanks to title 9, but most spectator attention goes towards males

You're right. I just don't want to be personally insulted. I don't want people to tell me I'm stupid just because my opinion is different than theirs, which I feel happens a lot here. I already know I'm not as smart as some of the people who post here. I feel like they're going to rip me to shreds if I accidentally say something they think is too stupid.
You are MOST mistaken on all your premises except the one about most coaches being male.
This is not an appropriate venue for most women nowadays, although I doubt they literally compromise only .1% of the website traffic. Probably more like 5-10% I'd guess. I would venture that they stay on-topic with running for the most part too. #1 There aren't many women who share the sense of humor that permeates these boards. #2 Women are inherently more inclined to social relationships, which makes anonymity less favorable, which is why you will find more women on Facebook and Instagram than trolling Letsrun.
