actually, if he's a bandit, he's technically a thief. so, either he lied about actually doing the marathon, or he "stole" race support without paying for it.

It is obvious that a few of you are letting your political views interfere with the facts about the Boston Marathon. If you like GW and dislike JK, this should not cloud your view of reality.
If you have ever lived in Boston, you would know that it is very common for locals to run the Boston Marathon as bandits. More importantly, the race itself embraces bandits with one caveat. They must start in the very last corral. In speaking with a Boston Marathon race official who has been part of the marathon now for many years, he told me that bandits have always been welcomed and are just another part of the tradition that is Boston. He indicated that during planning, bandits are considered for all parts of the race including buses to the start, start staging, starting corrals, hydration and finishline supplies.
I know a plethra of folks who have run the Boston Marathon as bandits. All of them at the time they ran as bandits lived in the Boston area. Many of them were either students (med, law or grad school) or recent grads and did so at the suggestion of a friend, classmate or colleague as a means of getting back in shape. Some of them had no idea that everyone else (with a race number) qualified and just thought it would be something "fun" to do. All of them told me they picked up the bus like all the registered runners out to the start with all the other runners without any thought that they were doing something wrong.
In fact, one of them is a very big GW supporter and contributer and thinks the above referenced articles, especially Michelle Malkin's, is ridiculous. When I told this person about the fact that JK couldn't remember the year he ran Boston, he laughed and said that he could not remember whether it was his 1st or 2nd year of law school at Harvard that he ran it. He did remember that it was the worse pain he ever felt.
So forget your personal feelings about JK and stop looking for nonsense and deal with real facts.
