I would recommend that is the way to be healthy, IS a LOT of fruits and vegetables...60% carbs for a good runner, and most of that should be vegetables and fruit...only 10% needs to be protein and 30% fat.

You shouldn't pay too much attention to anything Tim Ferris has to say other than perhaps on the subject of entrepreneurialism, in which he has shown a decent knack. The book was good for a few giggles but it is mostly a hodge-podge collection of ambling anecdotes, limited understanding and unsubstantiated opinions.
Limiting fruit to zero may be a means for someone looking to drop to the absolute minimum level of bodyfat possible but I think for the average person eating a Western diet there will be 100 things further up the list to work on first.
At some point, you'll get so disgusted by how you feel afterward that all that food will repulse you.
I no longer can eat candy (Lemonheads, gummy candy, etc.) without bloating and feeling like complete crap even after a moderate amount. That feeling was so bad, I haven't touched it since.
