Also, Rupp is more consistent in his races than any other American. And when I say consistent I mean consistently posting solid times and dominating performances. Every other American is a mental headcase. Rupp has range and can't be stopped. Keep hating him, but he's the best American distance runner. The US is closing the gap. I'm not sure, but if the US is within 20 seconds of the WR now then it is less than it was a few hours ago. And by US I'm talking Galen Rupp and Alberto Salazar. Why should he/she enjoy the moment. Solinkski's 10k was enjoyable. This 10k was boring.
If you read the write up on the 28th , they didn't give Rupp a chance of getting the record let alone winning.

The times produced by Haile Gebrselassie, Paul Tergat, and Bekele are outliers and products of the EPO era and a time when the 10k was regularly raced on the track. I don't think there is anyone that can go sub 26:40 in the world right now. Even if the ability is there for the time, the racing opportunity won't really present itself.

I agree. Whatever you think of Rupp, and for whatever reason, he just cemented his fame as the best runner America has right now. And that clearly includes naturalized Americans who came from Africa. Very impressive.

Are you saying that the racing performance, despite being an American record, is lame?
Are you saying that other runners can go sub-26:40 this year?
Are you saying that, despite only a handful of runners going as fast over the last 7 years, the WR and comparable times are not outliers nor driven by an EPO-era?

In all honesty, sweating is in no indication of effort. Sweating is a homeostasis function of the body to keep it cool.
The fact that he wasn't sweating shouldn't be alarming for PEDs, but that his hypothyroidism is returning.
