Forget the fact that what wasn't what he (LV) wanted to do. Lets just do something because we are good at it, regardless of how miserable we are. If our daughters had the same philosophy, there would be a lot more strippers and porn actresses.

Thanks, I think that you actually filled in the right piece here. I had sort of forgotten that he started the track season late after working on academics. He did pretty well, but did not have as much hard training, and he probably was not real worried about it.

He has clearly and stunningly shown how much of a stud he is. Imagine getting an even bigger reputation by losing your first race of the year. [I did not think he would be this fast at 1500, and if he is much better at 5000/10,000 (as I had assumed) then watch out, this kid is not done yet!]

He didn't abandon al his cross training.

Cut back some, but not abandoned.

Hi stalker, I mean COWARD.

LV *wanted* to just run, until he didn't, and then changed his mind, and changed it again. The main reason he went back to tri's WAS BECAUSE he was better at them than running. You have it completely backwards. He said he enjoyed running more. But he kept mentioning that he thought he would never medal in running, but could win the gold in Tri someday. And after struggling at Oregon, he really wanted to return to tri's because he hated failure, and kept thinking back to winning the world JR's in tri (and he did also miss the higher volumes of training which he cut back on when running).

And as far as your analogy with women and their careers....WTF? I shouldn't be surprised that you have such a low opinion of women (most people like you do), and think that they all would enjoy stripping and F'ing for $ in front of people more than say, teaching, or being a doctor, or anything else.
