I'm sure you also believe that vaccinating your child causes autism.
I think it can be the cause of autism in SOME cases.

like how many? 1 in a million, that already had some very rare underlying condition that could be exacerbated towards an autism spectrum disorder by a variety of stresses?
Sure, I'll buy that. But that's way different than what than anti-vaccine nuts think.
Don't even waste your time. Seriously, the individual has never taken an immunology course in their life.
They will be the first to call the lawyers when their kid gets measles or polio.

There is a load of religious nonsense which is just that - nonsense.
Only barbarians circumcise their children.
There's no compelling reason to ban circumcision. The hard core anticircumcision movement is inspired by a combination of antisemitism, general anti-religious sentiment, and new age naturalism nonsense (like people who oppose vaccinations).
Of course, unlike vaccinations, circumcision isn't a crucial health procedure, but it does have a number of minor long term benefits (reduction in infections, particularly STIs), which may or may not be worth the very minor risk involved in the procedure itself.
There is also no evidence that circumcision affects sexual function or enjoyment.
The autonomy of the child isn't an ethically significant consideration either, because this is a medical procedure with known medical benefits. Parents often make close calls about the medical care of their children, and nobody disputes that it is appropriate for them to do so. In my experience, I've never met someone who opposes circumcision on child autonomy grounds without also believing (erroneously) all kinds of BS about the supposed importance of the foreskin, while also disbelieving the presently accepted scientific consensus about benefits of circumcision.

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess it's

There is no demonstrable benefit to circumcision.
The American Academy of Paediatrics is neutral on it. Soon, they will be against it, as are most medical groups in Europe.
I vaccinated my son. There is science behind vaccines. There is no science behind circumcision. My boy is not circumcised. If he wants to get circumcised when he is older (as my father did when he moved to the US), then he can. If the science changes and conclusively proves that slicing off foreskin materially improves the life of men, then I'd suggest he do it.
We used to rip out kids tonsils for no reason. Now we know this is crazy. The same will be found of circumcision. It is mindless. It makes no sense. And, as an added bonus, you have all these crazy religious people trying to claim that it is of some benefit because books written in the iron age make that claim.
My post keeps getting cut off for some reason (pun intended). I'd say it's less than 5%.

You are uneducated in regards to religion's relationship to circumcision. Allow me to educate you.
The Bible makes no claim about health benefits. Circumcision was a symbolic representation of removing the superfluous pieces of our hearts, thereby allowing a more full devotion to God. Later, in the New Testament, Christ spoke of the "uncircumcised of heart," which is mentioned in Acts 7:51 as being synonymous with pride and unbending wills.
Circumcision no longer has religious significance outside of Judaism, but has been carried on because mostly because of tradition.
So you should probably separate your hatred of circumcision from your hatred of religion, because it makes you sound silly.
Beyond that, you speak of science, then use phrases like "mindless," "crazy," and "makes no sense," without providing evidence of the harm it causes, simply making the claim that science will find harm. You seem to know the future, my friend. You sound awfully prophetic for someone who despises religion.
That is your standard for a surgical procedure on an infant?
"Does it cause any harm?"
117 deaths/year in the US. Probably 3-4x that many complications resulting in damage requiring further surgery, infection etc.
Why subject the most vulnerable person you can think of to a procedure that could kill him because you mistakenly believe, "It won't hurt him"?
Then there are the deaths from having is performed by a mohel.

This is entirely preventable.

Shia requires circumcision.

Beat me to it. There's a spare billion or so people to whom circumcision has "religious significance."
And I'm glad someone added the info about injuries/deaths caused by circumcision--not to mention the horror of incidents like this:
http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/story/23912521/mother-upset-over-botched-circumcision#axzz2uZEOzRa8. To call it "harmless" is absurd.
GO TO HELL YOU ANTI_SEMITIC ARAB HATER. MUSLIMS CIRCUMCISE, DON'T EAT PORK, AND WILL KICK YOUR ANTI_SEMITIC REDNECK ASS.
Barbaric? It was invented by civilized people with roots in two of the most ancient civilizations of all. egyptians of mesopotamian descent.
It was spread to europe because it was adopted by the degenerate ancient greeks and romans, two more civilizations, who went around forcing the practice on all the stout germanic, slavic and uralic barbarians living in harmony with nature there.
So don't go dragging us barbarians into this. It ain't our fault.
60,000 years ago the 1st Civilizations in Kenya expanded up the Nile River from Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sudan to Egypt.
Kenya is the birthplace of mankind and had the 1st Civilization.
Egypt had the 1st Recorded Civilizations, i.e. they wrote shit down.
Ethiopian surnames are the root for most of the names in the Bible, Koran, Torah and Western names in general.

According to the Leakeys who never dug anywhere else.
As for civilization, Kenya is a land of proud barbarians, that is why they succeed at athletics just like Nordic people and American Indians. Ethiopia's civilization declined and they returned to the land, so they are again strong too.
Look at the great civilizations of the past. indus valley, iraq, egypt, rome, greece, afghanistan. How many great athletes come from these places? Few to none. Physical strength bleeds out of the gene pools of city dwellers. Not trolling.
china has great athletes because of two things, first there are so many of them, and second, everyone knows the second reason.
