HASAY is one CLASS ACT

This had nothing to do with Jordan Hasay. She should never have been brought into this fray. The sorority girls could have voiced their feelings directly to the governing bodies.

Instead they made a cowardly display that does no good for the sport.

You know some Nike PR person wrote every line of that insincere statement and revised it 1000 times.

I disagree that her move shows class. I'm not saying it shows a lack of class, but she's caving to emotional social pressure when her competitor's disqualification was fully justified under the rules and she was entitled to advance to world's. She should have stuck up for herself, but evidently she would rather have social approval than a place on the team.

Hopefully by the time Hasay is 30, NOP will allow her to speak publicly about this issue.

Jeez the Nike PR machine is really running on full cylinders today. Hasay backed down because the heat was getting too much for her and she knew she would probably lose the protest anyway.

The "mob" in this case is the rules commitee the first three times, almost all of the other athletes (including Nike ones), and most of the other coaches, and anyone who has ever run middle distance on a an indoor track. Quite an unqualified, unruly lot for sure.

Hasay pulled out because she's a professional.

It would have been class if she never allowed the protest to occur in the first place, knowing she was the slower runner. Now it is just trying to do damage control as a result of bad decision making. 3 times she tried to overturn the result on track, in order to make the team. Now, when she and her handlers have realised the PR disaster they have created, she comes out and says that she doesn't want to make the team through protests. Class would have been making that decision on Saturday. Making it on Monday is what one does when backed into a corner.

The girls walking off holding their hands like a bunch of cupcakes probably know that it's their last professional race after getting absolutely PASTED by a 16 year old coached by Alberto Salazar. I certainly would not renew any of these girls contracts. They made fools of themselves.

That little b|tch Hasay protests, appeals, and appeals again (all with the help of Nike), and when she sees the whole world turns against her she pulls out. What a sham!

Owning up to the truth and admitting you were gassed and beat fair and square is classy? It's the basic qualities any person should show under the same circumstances. Should've happened sooner.

It shows you what kind of society we live in where there's so much dishonesty that we bow to someone who finally admits the truth.

This thread is mostly written by one Nike shill. The strategy is obviously to put all the guilt on Salazar and make Hasay look like the one who "pulled the protest".

My despise for Hasay, Salazar, and Nike has reached a new high.

Nike saw the huge negative backlash, and "advised" her to make this move to protect her image. She's just a puppet.

Jordan finds herself in a classic "Damned if I do" position. If this was truely of her own making. Once the protest was lodged (either by her or her support team), then appealed several times, there was no way of backing out without showing everyone that she didn't think the protest was justified in the first place. As has been the case. Once they opened the first door, they were stuck. The only way that she could remove herself from the mess is to say that she was either pressured into the protest by her employer, or that it was her employer who made the protest and that she risked her future employment if she didn't follow along. Either way there would likely to have been employment issues for her (possibly withholding of bonus payments). Whether or not that would have been the case, I certainly don't know. But when Jordan made the decision to be part of the ridiculous protest circus on Saturday, she took on any and all consequences that followed. Sadly. A tough lesson learnt, hopefully.

Thanks to twitter for producing an immediate ATOMIC BLAST making Nike back off of our sport. Eff yeah!
