Brooks Sports wants to have it both ways

You'd be hard pressed to find a running related story I care less about.

This guy gets it. Seems like a mistake on the team's part, and I assume Brooks will address it in one way or another.

Yes unions can fix everything. They are the solution. Without them I would show up to work tomorrow and immediately have to work an 18 hour day in unsafe conditions. Thank God I pay them all that money every year so they can negotiate for me in luxury.

Let's be honest, "Beasts" is an absolutely terrible name for a team. Are you coaching a 1st grade tee-ball team. ATTENTION BROOKS SPORTS! Get rid of your marketing department and hiring some people that know what they are doing.

What name do you suggest? Seems right down the middle for a Brooks to do something different. They are always a little weird. Would you suggest something flashy like "Project", "Team", or "Club".

It's still around as far as I know. It falls under the "motion control" category, usually sold to heavy over-pronators.

You are a moron. AZtj said nothing that could be construed as pro-union. If anything, he makes it sound as though he is annoyed that they are "necessary".

Basically, running with Brie Felnagle (an adidas athlete) on their Beast TC team allowed them to win the team competition and take the team prize money when they competed wearing different uniforms (a violation of USATF's club competition rules)

None of the clubs that the combined Brooks+Adidas team beat where willing to protest the results which, in my opinion, showed more class than the Beast TC team did which purposely dropped Brooks from their club name to scam prize money.

Keep in mind, the Flagstaff team was composed of differently contracted athletes but they actually followed the rules and created a non-branded uniform which the all competed in. Ironically, Beast TC bumped Flagstaff out of the money.

Pretty sad and shady on the Seattle groups part. If you can't win fairly, then don't play.

This the problem with overly ambitious young coaches who haven't even been around the block once yet.........

What defines a team? Athletes in the same uniform? Or athletes that actually train together every day? Don't all of the Beasts train together in Seattle? Seems like a team to me. How care who sponsors them. It's about the athletes. Brooks didn't get any prize money from that race and it actually probably wasn't in their best interest to have an Adidas athlete running on their team either. Nothing shady or sad about athletes training together and wanting to race together. Probably would've done it for $0 since there aren't too many chances as a professional to run as a team.

Yes, it was a motion control shoe that was and is still pretty popular.

Regarding suggestions, I'm not quite sure, but "Beasts" is terrible. Honestly, you're naming your team after a shoe at the very least. Let's get a bit more creative can we?
