Gave up sandwich meats. And I haven't had marshmallow fluff in many, many years. (I used to specialize in those fluffernutter sandwiches. I doubt they were helping me, even when I was running ten a day; I'm sure they'd be no help now. Actually, the thought of them is making me queasy.)
I've given up a lot more, now that I think about it. (Obviously I don't miss most of it, or the specific items would have come to mind immediately.) That little heart attack was very motivating...

I've been conscious about what I eat for a while, but there are some things I used to eat that I thought were healthy, but really aren't. To make this thread more helpful, I've included what I replaced the items with:
- Sugar-Free Soda/Drinks ---> Water, Sparkling Water with Natural Flavor (like La Croix), Izze (has real sugar, but from fruit juice)
- Sugar-Free Gum ---> N/A except the occasional Tic-Tacs
- Sugar-Free Yogurt ---> Low-Fat Cottage Cheese I mix with no sugar added apple sauce and cinnamon
- Sugar-Free Syrup ---> Real Maple Syrup
- Bread/Bagels ---> Gluten-Free Bread for sandwiches, no other bread-like products.
- Soy Milk ---> Almond Milk or 1% (real) Milk if not available.
- Lean Cuisine frozen meals ---> Amy's frozen meals and soups
- Slim-Fast Bars ---> Lara Bars
- Granola Bars ---> Bananas w/ Natural PB
- Special K Cereal ---> Plain oatmeal with blueberries and banana or Gluten-Free Puffin cereal with banana
- Processed Sandwich Cheese ---> Real cheese
- Pretzels ---> Natural almonds (no salt or sugar), baby carrots, Pirate's Booty
I'm sure someone will still argue about my current picks, but I do think they are healthier than the originals. Instead of being concerned with low-calorie, low-fat, low-sugar crap, I try to now eat more nutrient-dense foods that don't have artificial ingredients. I've actually lost weight this way.
