What would 5k world record be on 10 miles a week?

the problem with this is that it doesn't allow for a warm up. 10 miles a week is just jack shit.

McCurdy's best mid d guy was Adam Dixon back in '82-'83. He was definitely a speed vs. strength guy. Great 1000m talent; maybe too big and not enough endurance for a great 1500m?

Long before Dixon, there was Keith Colburn, NCAA 1000 champ in the late 1960s and leader of indoor NCAA 2 mile relay champions. I don't know about the dirty 6 but I do recall four or more repeat 4:30 miles in an hour turning my lungs inside out and legs to manicotti.McCurdy always figured he had just 60 minutes or so with his guys and so he pushed them to the utmost. He spurned long distance (except for a spring break stretch at the Escambron Beach Club in Puerto Rico).With cross training, he could have done a lot with 10 miles a week.

That's a crock if you train 10 yrs at 100m per wk having a year off does not get rid of all that work

It has to be 10 miles max for whole career or the question is meaningless

Look at Kip Keino 5km time off 50 mpw and you will see all talk of 13:20 off 10 mile per wk max in career- and no fecking cheating cycling hundreds of miles and swimiing the ocean- is crap

Since it impossible to be good on anything less than 100 mpw, running 10 mpw

would make the WR 10 times slower.

Yes I think OP needs to define the rules of the hypothetical. Do only running miles count on the 10mpw? Or do walking miles, biking miles, elliptical "miles," etc. count?
