Local Tacoma kid Darrell Robinson is still the national HS record holder in 44.69. Made the Olympics his freshman year at UW, then quit. Ended up a homeless crack addict with attempted suicides. This is one of the HS marks I suspect is drug-tainted.

My best friend in H.S. he was all American in the 1500, went to the O . All American in XC his senior year graduated in December and never really ran again.
