My whole background is on sprint type workouts (repeat 4's, repeat 2's, 1-2-3-4-reverse pyramids, 20x100m), so those workouts shouldn't be too taxing. Then again it's those types of workouts that i did for 7+ months at constant max effort that probably contributed to major burnout. Quite true as well, 800m coach, with the points you make. I've been working on distance for some time now so hopefully the aerobic component was the missing link. Another good point on "general to specific," which I suppose is only logical.
