I disagree with the OP. I think elites look much better in person. When you see them in person you realize just how much better looking they are compared to the general public.

I saw Carrie Tollefson in NYC today. You are not going to see many more attractive than her anywhere

I ran a couple miles with her once, great personality, super funny and could knock a can off a fence post at 20 yards with a snot rocket. Just saying.
Delilah Decriscenza is the HOTTEST runner alive.

I agree many of the distance many are skeletal and not very masculine. However there are attractive females. Kara is not just cute she is extremely attractive (and marketable). She would fair well against any females IMO not just runners. There are some super tiny ones but there are also a lot of nice looking female runners.
I was at the race this morning and saw all the elite women warming up - they look great in running clothes - sleek, elegant, fast. Very attractive ja.
In regular clothes that don't fit...not as attractive.
I find success hot, so I would do any of the elites, male or female.
Try running 120-140mpw and see what you look like. It's no big deal and temporary while they're competitive runners. They'll fill out fast enough once they stop competing.
I met the Halls at the airport this week in the security line. He looks exactly like he does in photos and video. Tall and very, very compact. Just as elite thin as you'd expect. She is just as stunning as in photo or video.
I haven't seen any Marathoners, and in no way doubt that 100+ miles a week will make you look like a dead person, but seeing Andrew Wheating in person (a 6'6 800/1500 guy), he is jacked as hell. Especialy considering that he's that tall. I'm 6'3 and can't fill out my body for shit.
(from volunteering at thons) they usually look fairly above average in normal clothes.

It's called eating and lifting weights.
Stamps is still quite attractive as a marathoner.
Implying I haven't tried, and am not doing that.

No. Very cute face but little else.

That's f*cking gross, dude.
Quit trolling.
Come people wake the F up: Suzy Favor Hamilton, hello!
As for a marathoners, it's not just low BF, most have a bird like frame. I met Bill Rodgers after a race in the late 1980s, past his prime, but I was shocked at the narrowness of his shoulders and pelvis, he looked like he could fit into one of my pant legs, and I was about 5'11" / 158 lbs. seen in isolation in a photo he looks fairly average, but in a crowd of people he was dwarfed. Exceptionally nice fellow.
Brenda Martinez in person is really stunning. Saw her a couple of times in NYC being interviewed after wins there, most notably after winning the 5th Avenue Mile in 2012. She's remarkable.

Nice shot of Vessey.
I have sat on that same bike. Jealous?
10 points to anyone who can tell me where that photo is from. Hint: airport.

This is also true for elite female runners. Look at the Karas and Shalanes etc. They all have a boxy frame, no boobs/butt to speak off.
Compare that with the curvaceous sprinter ladies.
Case in point:
