I guess what I mean to say, is that its all relative. I ran 4:22 in high school and 4:09 (converted to 1600) in college.
I think those are...ok. Definitely not good though. I could have and should have run faster. So I would say 4:25 is ok.
But, Tell a guy with a 4:50 PR that you ran 4:25 and he'll think you're really legit. And tell a non-runner who ran an 8 min gym mile PR that you ran 4:25, and their jaws will drop...only lifting again to ask you if you ever thought about going after the world record.
