Asbel Kiprop was up front early and then just faded until the last lap until kicking to save some face.

Not true. Lewandowski ran a PR in second place.
Centro followed Kiprop until about 350 to go.. gave up on that and passed him and was up to around 6-8 on the backstretch and then just blew up fading to 3:36 (still wish I could have been able to do that back in the day). Looks like Salazar's runners are collecting the cash but have packed it in for the year.
How much do you think Manzano is kicking himself now for not signing a contract at the beginning of the year.

Here's the video of USA champs 800m. Completely different approach from Symmonds. The lap split is only a few tenths different from today and he's in last, having lagged the field from the beginning.
He has not run like that since then. He rethought his approach with the goal of getting better position at 400 so he doesn't have to pass so many people in the last 200.

Yes. Hasay stopped at the end of the lap after she was passed. I saw her come in and didn't continue for another lap after all the Ethiopians finished.
Yep, but they were already spilling out onto the track for the 800 as she was at 400 meters to go, so she just stopped instead of trying to weave through them all.
