Farah was sick at Pre and showed more recently plenty of closing speed (50 close of a 14:20? race). He hasn't proven he can run in the 12:40s (I am sure that he can because he has dusted many 12:40s runners in slower races) and it is very unlikely he'll be forced to try at World's, because that would take team running and personal sacrifice for the pace to be set that fast, and neither the Ethiopians, nor the Kenyans have proven willing to do that for many years.

For the same reason why guys like Robbie Andrews gets into the adidas DL meet in NY.
Gotta have some locals in the field even if thier performances don't merit them being in there
I'm pretty sure it would take only one runner to run a fast pace.

I wonder why Rupp committed to this race so late? Maybe Galen is finally rounding into shape, and knows he has a shot at the record in a fast race. An AR and win over Lagat would give him a lot of confidence going into the WC's.
Sato is going for the Japanese NR. Only 0.40 off in Heusden.
