Galen and Mo Doubling at Oxy

If it was already announced I missed it, but they are currently listed in both the 1500/5000: http://www.flotrack.org/coverage/250716-USATF-Oxy-High-Performance-Meet-2013/article/20542-ENTRIES-2013-USATF-Oxy-High-Performance-Meet I wonder if this is to pace Ritz again, or just to get in a good solid "tempo" type effort. Things could get lightly interesting as Solinsky and Levins are also in the 5000 and might make Galen/Mo work a little harder than they intend to.

I don't think anybody will hammer the 5000, but assuming both guys finish I think Farah/Rupp will be 1-2 in around 13:10 or so, with Solinsky a few seconds back due to a slightly slower last lap, as Sol ran 13:23 at Payton off of a conservative start, and has had a few more weeks to keep sharpening. I expect Dathan to get under the standard as well.
Levins is a wildcard, especially if the rumor at him not training with the rest of the guys in Utah is correct. He clearly has the ability to also grab the A, but hopefully it isn't some injury problem as he has done well till now with avoiding that.
Webb is another who knows what to expect guy, and while he wasn't horrible at Payton he didn't impress. Same with Puskedra at Oregon, seemingly struggling to run 8:00 3k.
Don't know too much about the rest of the guys.

I will bet against Rupp running 3:32.

LM knows his stuff from what I see on the boards, but I think a 3:33 more likely than a 3:32. Prove me wrong, that would be cool!

Robby Andrews? Who? That lad has a lot to prove. He did have a decent race at Oxy last year, let's see what he's got.

It's hard to say who will be "fastest" with their being multiple heats, but I would imagine Centro and Lomong will be the biggest threats.

I'm somewhat in line with this thinking, but I do think both are capable of 3:32...if everything goes right, which does happen only rarely. Rupp ran 3:34 high last year, and I'm convinced he is better this year than last. 2 seconds better at 1500? It's a lot, but I don't think its impossible, especially given his growing aptitude for speed, and that many guys that have ran around 7:30 have been in the 3:31 high to 3:33 range.

If I had to bet my life, it would be on 3:33, but as a US distance running fan I'm feeling the optimism!
